The Neurotypical (NT), or dominant brain type describes individuals with typical neurological development or functioning. Neurodivergent/Neurodistinct (ND) brain types describe individuals differing in mental, cognitive, and neurological functions and/or development from what is considered typical or normal. Neurodiversity defines the range of differences in individual brain function and behavioral traits as part of normal variation in the human population.
